techOMS AI Assistant: Overview & Availability [Information]

Last updated: October 20, 2026

The techOMS AI Assistant helps you work more efficiently by answering questions and assisting with supported configurations using natural-language requests.

This article covers the availability and product-specific behavior of the AI Assistant in techOMS. For information about the shared interface and controls, refer to 📄 AI Assistant: Shared Interface & Controls [Information].

Supported Modules and Availability

You can use the AI Assistant on the screens below when the corresponding feature is available and you have the required access. Each section summarizes the available capabilities and provides representative requests.

Sales Order Rule Sets (Beta)

You can access the AI Assistant by navigating to Sales > Rule Sets (Beta), opening an existing Rule Set for editing, and clicking on the AI Assistant (Beta) icon.

The AI Assistant is available for an existing, editable Rule Set when you have the required Rule Set access. It is not offered for read-only Rule Sets.

Capabilities

The AI Assistant can explain your current Rule Set, work from the current Actions draft, use supported condition fields and available values, validate proposed configurations, and prepare Actions changes for your review.

The assistant does not execute or simulate Sales Orders, so you should review proposed logic before saving it.

For more information about Rule Set concepts and behavior, refer to 📄 Understanding Sales Order Rule Sets in techOMS [Guide].

Examples

  • Explain the current flow: "Explain what this Rule Set does."

  • Modify existing logic: "Remove the Set Status action and keep the remaining logic unchanged."

  • Add new logic: "If the order total is greater than 100, add a Set Status action."

Scope

Each request uses a point-in-time copy of the Actions draft that is open when you submit it, including unsaved Actions. Sending a request does not save or modify the Rule Set.

When the assistant proposes a change, View changes lets you compare Before, representing the saved Actions used as the proposal baseline, with After, representing the validated Actions that will be saved.

Selecting Save changes replaces both the saved Actions and any unsaved Actions currently open in the editor with the proposed configuration.

When Save changes succeeds, techOMS saves the proposed Actions directly and creates a normal Rule Set snapshot. You do not need to select the editor's separate Save button afterward for those Actions.

The assisted save does not save changes to Name, Trigger, Priority, or Enabled. Use the editor's normal Save workflow if you need to persist changes to those properties.

Selecting Cancel rejects the proposal without modifying the saved Actions or your current Actions draft.

If the saved Actions change after a proposal is prepared, the proposal becomes stale and you must request a new one. Pending proposals expire after 24 hours.

Your conversation is specific to you and the current Rule Set. Reopening the same Rule Set restores its saved conversation, while another user or Rule Set uses a separate conversation context.

If techOMS cannot determine whether a submitted request was accepted, use Check again to check the original request rather than submitting another copy. If a save finishes while the Rule Set is closed, reload the Rule Set before continuing to verify the saved Actions.

Using the AI Assistant

The AI Assistant uses the shared interface and controls documented in 📄 AI Assistant: Shared Interface & Controls [Information].

In techOMS, recorded AI usage is accumulated by calendar month and shared within the same Organization. When the recorded allowance is exhausted, you cannot submit new AI requests until usage becomes available again.
