How to configure ePost Global (EPGLOBALV2) in techSHIP
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This guide covers the ePost Global plugin EPGLOBALV2, which is intended to replace the previous EPGLOBAL integration.
This guide explains how to add and configure this carrier connection, review its available carrier-specific settings, and understand the shipment requirements and operational constraints that apply.
Carrier Requirements and Specifications
This section summarizes onboarding requirements and lists confirmed carrier-specific constraints.
To review all supported carriers and their specific requirements, see: 📄 techSHIP supported Carriers - Master List [Guides List].
Onboarding Requirements
The ePost Global integration supports:
Void
Rate Shop
Track History
Label References
Information to be Provided
The following credentials and data points are mandatory to configure the ePost Global connection. Ensure you have these items available before starting the setup:
DATA ELEMENT | SOURCE (HOW TO OBTAIN) |
|---|---|
Parcel API access key | Obtain the access key or token from ePost Global for the environment you will use. |
Account number | Obtain your shipping account number from ePost Global. |
Sender details | Provide the sender's contact name, company, shipping address, country, email address, and phone number. |
Confirm with ePost Global which services and destinations are enabled for your account. Obtain a sub-account identifier when your operation uses one.
To use Track History, also obtain a Tracking client ID and Tracking client secret from ePost Global. These credentials are separate from the parcel API access key.
Specifications and Constraints
Operational Details
ePost Global supports small parcel shipping. Available services and destinations depend on the services enabled for your account and the shipment lane.
End-of-day manifest close is supported. A downloadable manifest report is available only when ePost Global supplies one; a successful close does not guarantee a printable report.
Shipment addresses: Provide complete ship-from and ship-to addresses, including the first address line, city, postal code, and country. The ship-to contact name is required.
Package data: Include at least one package with a positive weight. When supplying dimensions, provide positive length, width, and height together.
International shipment data: Provide the contents description, currency, commodity quantities and values, HS codes, country of origin, and tax information required for the selected service and destination.
Configuring a Baseline Account
A Baseline Account serves as the fundamental connection point between techSHIP and the carrier's system. It acts as a template that holds the credentials and fundamental properties required to process shipments.
The techSHIP AI Assistant is available from the Carrier page for supported Carrier configuration tasks. For detailed conceptual information and advanced configuration, refer to 📄 techSHIP AI Assistant: Overview & Availability [Information].
Adding a Carrier
Before adding an account, you must ensure the Carrier entity is available for your location.
Click My Carriers from the left menu under the Carriers category.
Click Add Carrier.

Select the desired Carrier.
You may encounter additional messages depending on the carrier status or your plan:
Subscription Required (⭐): If the carrier has a star icon, you will see a message stating "To use this carrier, a subscription upgrade is required." Press Contact to Upgrade to proceed.

Carrier Suspended: If the carrier has not been used for an extended period, you will see a message stating “This carrier is currently on hold...” Click Request Assistance to reactivate it.

Setup Fee Waived: If a carrier from the same carrier group is already installed in your location, you can add this carrier without incurring additional fees.

If needed, update the carrier Name.
Click Add Carrier. Once the Carrier is added, you will be automatically redirected to the Carrier page to continue setting it up.

Enter the Code of the Carrier as it appears in your host system.
The Code of the Carrier must match exactly the value defined in the host system. Any discrepancy (including casing or extra spaces) may prevent the carrier from working correctly.
Click Save.

If your facility utilizes the centralized Pickup Schedule, we highly recommend adding this new carrier to your calendar now. While not required to process labels, this ensures accurate induction metrics for your Insights dashboards. To learn more, see 📄 Understanding the Centralized Pickup Schedule & Expected Induction Logic [Information].
Adding a Baseline Account
From the Carrier page, click Add Account to create a new Baseline Account.

You will be redirected to the Baseline Account page to complete the setup.
Entering incorrect values will prevent the system from generating shipping labels.
General Tab
In the General tab, define the administrative properties:

Name: Enter a descriptive name for the account.
Enter a descriptive name based on unique properties. E.g.:
Carrier Name - Account Number (CarrierX - 123456789)
Carrier Name - Consolidator Name (CarrierY - MyConsolidator)
Carrier Name
Usage: Select the most suitable option:
Test: Used for sandbox or onboarding purposes.
Production: Used for live shipping.
Keep the Status field set to its default Active value. An account must be Active to remain fully editable. For detailed conceptual information on account statuses, refer to 📄 How to Inactivate and Activate a Carrier Baseline Account [Step-by-Step Guide].
Carrier Tab
Configure the following settings in the Baseline Account.
API setup
Access key: Enter the parcel API access key supplied by ePost Global.
Account number: Enter your ePost Global shipping account number. This value is also required to close manifests.
Tracking client ID and Tracking client secret: Enter the separate tracking credentials when using Track History. Both values are required for tracking authentication.
Use credentials enabled for the environment selected in Usage, on the General tab.
Sender address
Enter the Sender name, Sender company, Address 1, City, Zip, Country, Email, and Phone for the default shipping origin. Complete Address 2, Address 3, and State/province as applicable.
Labels Tab
Formats: Set Mode to PDF, PNG, or ZPL, according to your printing workflow.
Multiple labels: A package may receive more than one shipping label. Review all labels generated for the package and use those required for the selected service.
Finalizing the Setup
Once you have entered the required information, click Save.

After you save the Baseline Account, check whether the Registration tab or a registration status badge is available.

If neither is available, the Carrier does not use this Registration workflow in techSHIP. If registration is still pending, open the Registration tab and press Registration, then complete 📄 How to Register a Carrier Baseline Account [Step-by-Step Guide] before creating shipments.
From the Carrier page, you can now see the Baseline Account listed with the administrative status Active. The Active status is separate from the account's registration status.

The Baseline Account configuration is now saved. You can continue with Configuring a Client Account below to assign the Baseline Account to a specific Client.
Configuring a Client Account
Adding an Account
Before adding a Client Account, ensure that the Client has been created. For instructions creating a Client, see: 📄 10 - How to create a Client profile [Step-by-Step guide].
Click Clients from the left menu under the Clients section.
Click the Edit icon for the desired Client.

Click Add Accounts.

Optionally, use the Search box to search by Baseline Account Name or Carrier.
Select the Baseline Accounts that will serve as the foundation for your new Client Accounts.
Click Add Accounts.

A toast notification will confirm the accounts were successfully assigned. Click the Refresh icon if recently added accounts are not displayed.

Click Edit on each newly created account.

Configure the available options in each tab (except Carrier).

For complete instructions on configuring this settings, see 📄 How to configure the Billing Account General Options tab [Step-by-Step guide].
Carrier Tab
Configure the following settings in the Client Account.
Service and customs
Service code: Select the account's default service. A valid ePost Global service must be resolved before processing a shipment.
Override WMS service code: Enable this option to use the account's configured service instead of the service received from the Integrated system.
Sub-account: Enter the identifier supplied by ePost Global when this client uses a sub-account. This does not replace the Account number configured in the Baseline Account.
Currency: Select the account's currency. This field is required. A value supplied in the order's Currency field takes precedence.
Default contents description: Enter the description to use when the order does not include a Contents description.
Customs signer: Enter the customs declaration signer's name when required for your shipments.
Calculate declared value: Enable this option to calculate the value from the package's commodity quantities and unit values when no package declared value is supplied. An existing package declared value takes precedence. Carrier declared value is not used when a third-party insurance account is selected.
Export reason: Select the reason applicable to your shipments. When selecting OTHER, complete Export reason other with the corresponding explanation.
Skip value added tax validation: Enable this option only when the carrier has approved bypassing its value added tax validation for your operation.
Sender
Enter the client's Sender name and Sender company. To use a different shipping origin, enable Override sender address and complete Address 1, City, Zip, and Country. Complete Address 2, Address 3, State/province, Phone, and Email as applicable.
Specifying Rate Shopping Service Codes
ePost Global supports Rate Shop. Restrict the services included in the comparison when the client should use only selected services. The configured services must be supported by the integration and available for your account and shipment lane.
For detailed instructions on how to configure this, see: Include or exclude Service Codes when Rate Shopping [Step-by-Step Guide].
Label References
ePost Global supports three label references. Configure Reference 1, Reference 2, and Reference 3 in the Labels group on the Client Account's General tab. Reference 4 is not used by this integration.
The Package reference 1, Package reference 2, and Package reference 3 fields in Service and customs, on the Carrier tab, provide alternative reference settings. For each reference, the corresponding General tab value takes precedence; the package reference is used only when that value is blank.
For a comprehensive guide on how to use label references, see: Using order References in your labels [Step-by-Step guide].
Finalizing the Setup
Once you have entered the required information, click Save.

With the account configured and requirements verified, you can now proceed to process orders as described below.
Configuring an Order
The steps described in this section are not required for carrier setup, and they are offered as an optional review if further order-level configuration is required.
Follow the UI Navigation steps in 📄 05 - How to edit an order’s information - [Step-by-Step guide], using the carrier-specific values provided in this guide.
The following ePost Global fields are available in Options, on the Order's Carrier tab:
Service code: Select the service for the shipment.
Contents description: Enter the description for this order. When supplied, it replaces the Default contents description configured in the Client Account.
Currency: Select the currency for this order when it differs from the account configuration. The order value takes precedence.
Consignee Tax ID: Enter the recipient's tax identifier when required for the destination and service.
Click Save to apply the order-level changes. After the Order is updated, continue with the standard shipping workflow.
Troubleshooting
Shipping authentication fails: Review Access key in the Baseline Account's Carrier tab. Confirm with ePost Global that the key is enabled for the environment selected in Usage, on the General tab.
Shipping works but tracking authentication fails: Check both Tracking client ID and Tracking client secret in the Baseline Account's Carrier tab. The parcel API access key cannot replace these tracking credentials.
No rates or an unsupported service: Review Service code and any service restrictions in the Client Account. Confirm that the service is enabled for your account and shipment lane. If a carrier-enabled service is unavailable in techSHIP, provide its code and the carrier confirmation to support for review.
Address or package validation fails: Review the order's ship-from and ship-to addresses, including the recipient's contact name. On the Packages tab, check that each package has a positive weight and that length, width, and height are all positive when dimensions are supplied.
Incorrect value or contents description: Review the order's Currency and Contents description, which take precedence over the account settings. For shipment declared value, check the package value before relying on Calculate declared value in the Client Account's Carrier tab.
Label format or incomplete label output: Check Mode on the Baseline Account's Labels tab against the formats listed above. When only some packages receive labels, review the order's package results and tracking numbers before reprocessing; a label error does not necessarily mean no shipment was created.
Package reference changes do not appear: Review Reference 1, Reference 2, and Reference 3 in the Client Account's General tab. A populated value takes precedence over its corresponding package reference on the Carrier tab. Update that value, or clear it to use the package reference instead.
Manifest close fails or no report is available: Check Account number in the Baseline Account's Carrier tab when closing fails. When close succeeds but no report can be downloaded, confirm with ePost Global whether a report was generated for that close; changing the label format does not create a manifest report.
