How to Import Alternate Products via file [Step-by-step guide]

The most effective way to add alternate products to techOMS is by using the import feature. This guide walks you through the process. 

NOTE: Make sure that you are operating at the right Vendor/Warehouse beforehand.

 

WARNING: Each file can contain up to 10,000 records. Going over this will cause data issues.

 

NOTE: The system supports comma (,), semicolon (;), and tab as delimiters. The only supported quotation mark character is double quote (").

  

WARNING: Importing a file overwrites your previous list. A backup of the previous bundle structure is automatically generated before import; you will be prompted to restore it in Step 4, if needed. This will roll back to the previous state.



Do not attempt to use an exported file as a template for the import operation, as their data schemas differ. Always use the canonical template provided in the techOMS Canonical Import Files [Information] article.

  

To import alternate products:

1. Click Products from the left menu under the Inventory section.

2. Press Maintenance and click on Import Alternate Products.

3. Click on the Files field and select the file.

4. Press Import Alternate Products.
